Unique Website Design Options

Unique Website Design

Not sure if you can produce it yourself? If you are not confident of your computer design skills, there are always options.

For your design options, you can:

1. Search online for free/low cost graphics
2. Hire a web designer to make a unique website design or logo
3. Use existing print designs to scan and incorporate onto your website
4. Experiment to make simple designs on your own

Depending on the amount of time, money, and skills you have, you may want to do some or all of the above options.

It’s natural to feel overwhelmed if you don’t know the first thing about design or design software. But please realize that you do not have to be a design pro to make an effective business website.

Your website design and graphics should be simple and complement your branding strategy.

While good design is relevant for an effective business website, make no mistake about it -- the most important part of your website is your written content.

Visitors will overlook an overly simple or sparse design if you provide them with useful, beneficial information instead of a sales pitch.

Words sell. Fancy designs do not. (unless you are selling fancy designs!)

Focus more of your time creating quality content, and tie it together with a simple design layout.

If you have an existing business and have printed brochures, it will be even easier for you to duplicate a brandable design quickly and effectively.

In fact, recently, I have done this myself as a consultant in order to quickly produce a business website at avellinoapartments.com.

While I have been online building websites since 1994, I am by no means a “designer” with advanced Photoshop design skills. It required very little time to produce this unique website design as I had a professional brochure to literally copy and paste the design and wording right into the website.

To do this, you would simply scan in your brochure, and use a photo editor (like Paint.NET, Photoshop, or whatever you use to view and edit pictures on your computer) to crop out the sections you want to put on your website.

For example, you can scan your business brochure and use the crop feature to grab your business logo. Save that newly cropped logo file on your computer so you can include it on the top of all of your website pages as your website business logo.

Need to Edit an Existing Picture?

Maybe add a tagline? Get the free and easy to use Paint.NET software to edit your graphics and pictures at Paint.NET.

Using a graphics editing program like Paint.NET is completely optional -- it's only needed if you would like to edit the existing pictures you have, or create your own pictures.

It's even easier if you have your own pictures from a brochure or elsewhere, as I've described above.

This easy and quick method will give you a professional and uniform look and feel to your website that will also enforce your brand image.

Next, you will need a website editing program. With our recommended free website editors, create your own website free.
